Aquatic Network
The Aquatic Network provides information about living resources and technology relating to marine and freshwater environments. Its mission is to promote sustainable use of aquatic resources, serve as a clearinghouse for information relating to aquatic environments, and explore the use of the Internet and other new technologies to foster global communication and networking.
FAO - Ministerial meeting on the implementation of the code of conduct for responsible fisheries
The twenty-third Session of the International Committee on Fisheries held in 1999. The Committee stressed the increasingly important role of inland capture fisheries and aquaculture in fish production and human nutrition. In this regard, it emphasized the benefits of integrated resources management, the need to combat adverse impacts on the environment and for enhanced cooperation between fishers, government agencies and other stakeholders.

Marine Stewardship Council (MSC)
An independent, global, non-profit organisation that has developed an environmental standard for sustainable and well-managed fisheries in order to promote environmentally responsible and sustainable global fishing management practices. New Zealand hoki has been awarded this certification.
