Trolling

Trolling

Trolling is used to catch predatory pelagic fish like tuna and yellowtail kingfish. A boat drags a set of 5-21 hooked lures through the water at slow to moderate speed (2-10 knots). Tuna and kingfish attack the lures, thinking that they are smaller prey species, and get hooked.

Weights can be attached to the lines if the target fish are found at a greater depth.
