AQUA-L: Aquaculture discussion list

The AQUA-L mailing list is owned by the Aquaculture Association of Canada and is maintained by the Fisheries and Marine Institute of Memorial University of Newfoundland. The purpose of the list is to promote discussion amongst individuals interested in the science, technology and business of rearing aquatic species.

Membership in the list is public and unrestricted. Topics include: Who's doing what and where; problems and solutions rearing aquatic larvae; diseases, parasites and pathology; water quality; recirculation technology and applications; research aquatic systems design and operation; commercial aquatic systems design and operation; site selection and environmental impact; new species under culture; genetics, sex reversal and hormonal manipulation; computers in aquaculture; public perceptions of aquaculture; and aqua-business.

Fish-Sci
An international e-mail forum for the discussion of scientific ideas and events pertaining to fish and fisheries. For the purposes of this forum, fishery science is broadly defined to include relevant aspects of biology, oceanography, ecology, limnology, economics, mathematics, sociology and any other scientific disciplines contributing to current understanding of fish (including marine mammals, algae, shellfish, and other living resources) and fisheries.  Announcements and news items that pertain to fishery science and would be of interest to a broad cross section of members are also welcome.
Food Safety Network Listservs
Food Safety Network (FSnet), Agriculture Network (Agnet), AnimalNet, and Functional FoodNet. From the University of Guelph, Ontario.
Seafood
The seafood mailing list at UC Davis was created in 1995 as a service to the seafood industry. The list has over 850 subscribers worldwide from industry, government and academia. The primary purpose of the mailing list is to facilitate information exchange about the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) system of food safety control in the seafood industry.
Shellfish forum
Discussion list managed by the National Shellfisheries Association which covers all aspects of shellfish biology, ecology, culture, management, production, and related issues.

Aquatic Sciences & Fisheries Abstracts
"The premier reference in the field of aquatic resources. Input to ASFA is provided by a growing international network of information centers monitoring over 5,000 serial publications, books, reports, conference proceedings, translations and limited distribution literature."
